Buckingham Palace - Background
Buckingham Palace is the nerve centre of the British monarchy and the main residence of Queen Elizabeth II. Converted into a Palace in the early 19th century, this royal household also hosts ceremonial occasions and banquets for visiting heads of state.
To one side of the palace is the Queen's Gallery, where a selection of the monarch's priceless art collection is on display. The Gallery is currently being refurbished.

Getting There
The Mall SW1. Adjacent to St. Jame's and Green Parks; a short walk from Trafalgar Square or Piccadilly Circus.
Opening Times and Admission Prices
The Royal Mews is open throughout the year, while the State Rooms and Gardens open during August and September on a timed ticket basis.
The Queen's Gallery reopens in 2002.
Adult £11, Senior Citizen (over 60) £9, Child (under 17) £5.50, Under 5's are free. A family ticket (2 adults and 2 under 17's) can be obtained for £27.50.
